Congrats on making the
2010-2011 Poky Cheer Team!
Shari and I are so excited for this upcoming year, congrats to all who made it! We have a ton of great talent on this team and can't wait to show everyone what we've got. Here is some important info for the beginning of the summer. Let's get started!
**Tumbling**
We will be taking a tumbling class starting Monday June 7th at the YTC. Its located on 1st street kind of under the Benton St overpass. The class is from 8:00am-10:00am EVERY Monday. If you have a leotard please wear it. Do not be late.
**June Practices**
We will be having practices Tues June 8th, Tues June 15th, Thurs June 17th and then Monday-Friday June 21st-25th. All practices will be from 8:00am-10:00am at Poky. Don't be late. We will try to meet in The Pit but if The Pit is being used we will be practicing outside. WE WILL BE STUNTING so please come prepared to work. Safety is #1 on our list so please be focused. Hair needs to be up and out of your face. Leave your jewelry at home. Please wear appropriate clothing, baggy clothes would be a bad idea during stunting.
**Stunt Clinic**
Thursday June 10th we will be attending a stunt clinic at Highland High School. This will be in place of our regularly scheduled practice. The clinic starts at 9:00am. Please arrive at HHS at 8:45am. This clinic is being put on by the HHS Cheerleaders, BE COURTEOUS. This will be a very good learning opportunity for us. Again, please wear appropriate clothing.
**Posters/Run-throughs**
After practice on Thursday the 24th we will be making posters and all of the run-throughs for the year. This will be a time consuming process so be prepared to be there for a while.
**Cheer Camp**
We will be attending a USA Cheer Camp in Layton, UT from Monday June 28th-Thursday July 1st. You will be cheering ALL DAY EVERY DAY. This is always a great way to bond but please remember that our main focus to learn. I don't, at the moment, have info as to when we will be leaving or returning but I will post that info as soon as I get it.
******************************************************
As you can see June is a busy month! The Seniors will be making you a DVD with all of the cheers on it. Please use your month off in July to master all of the cheers. You will be tested before your first game, if you don't know the cheers you won't cheer. It would also be a good idea to use July to get some conditioning in. If you have any questions get a hold of either Shari or myself and we will be more then happy to help you out.
